Frequently Asked Questions
Curious questions from the inquiring mind
Certainly!
As our seed stock is pre-packed into airtight vials (the gold standard of seed storage), we will issue a credit for the value of each seed that does not germinate. We cannot send individual seeds as replacements, so this credit will be issued as a coupon for you to redeem with your next purchase. We have set our prices so low that the occasional seed not popping will be within tolerable norms for most reasonable green gardeners. However, its important that our customers feel fully supported and receive the full value they were expected from their purchase. This credit will make the next purchase feel like a bargain for sure!
If you experience a germination failure that is beyond what good germination practice (see our germination guide here) should allow, then we will look to replace your whole order. We do expect germination best practice to be followed and please don’t be offended when we ask for some evidence that you are complying with the guide.
Our customer service team will ask you questions about how you went about germinating your seeds. This is not about establishing blame, but about understanding the nature of the problem so it doesn’t happen again for you or any other customer. The information you provide helps us help everyone!
Absolutely. Our deliveries are carried out by good old Aus Post. They are not the fastest network in the world, but they are very reliable at something like 99% delivery rate.
Unfortunately, the modern world is not being kind to physical post and Australia Post only delivers every second day now.
So in the very unlikely event of your order not making it to your door, our customer support team is here ot investigate the issue.
We will do the obvious things like double checking your address with you and making sure it was entered correctly at checkout.
With this established we can then send a test mail to the address provided to ensure the address is functioning (no point sending your order until we know it will actually make it). On confirmation of you receiving our test mail, we will send your order again with tracking.
If the test mail does not make it through, then we will require another address to ship to to be provided.
This process will take a few days and all communication will be done via our support portal.
Your order will be a robust but normal envelope with nothing but your address and a couple of stamps. Its what people would call “lumpy” mail.
There will be no sender information or anything else to make it remarkable.
Please keep an eye on your mail box and don’t throw out any junk mail without checking it first (just incase).
Short answer is no. We don’t condone the propagation of seeds, but we do stand by them being viable so you can preserve them or hang on to them until legislation allows them to be grown. This is the case now in the ACT.
