Matty’s Tip: Autoflowers are sprinters, not marathon runners, so every day counts! Don’t stress them with heavy training like topping. I stick to gentle Low-Stress Training (LST) from early veg to open up the canopy and maximize light penetration to all those bud sites. This helps those lower branches catch up and get nice and thick.

Around week 3-4 from sprout, when she starts to show pre-flowers, immediately start easing her into her bloom nutrients. She’ll want less nitrogen and a good kick of phosphorus and potassium for bud production. Keeping your pH dialled in is critical – I aim for 5.8-6.2 in coco/hydro and 6.0-6.5 in soil throughout her entire life cycle. Consistent pH ensures she can gobble up all those vital nutrients, especially that P and K for those rock-hard, potentially colourful buds.

Because of their rapid-fire seed-to-smoke journey, autos don’t have much time to recover from shock. Plant them directly into their final pots to avoid transplant shock. She popped up strong and healthy, taproot looking like it’s already got places to be! She’s getting those first true leaves and looks vigorous. Just pure, pH-balanced water and a tiny kiss of veg nutrient for now. Keeping the environment dialled in – 24°C and 65% RH.

🌳 Week 3: Pre-Flower Power

She’s short and bushy, just how I like an auto in early veg. Gave her some gentle LST today, bending those main branches down to open her up and encourage more light to the lower nodes. Already seeing tiny pre-flowers forming! The bloom nutrient transition starts now, slowly upping the P and K. pH sitting consistently at 6.1 in the coco.

💨 Week 5: Buds Are Stacking!

The stretch was minimal, maybe 20-30%, but those bud sites are just exploding. She’s stacking flowers fast, with tight node spacing. Gave her a light defoliation today – mostly just tucking or removing larger fan leaves blocking lower sites, nothing drastic, autos hate big haircuts. The skunk aroma is already kicking in! Keeping an eye on that pH, staying between 6.0 and 6.2 to ensure maximum nutrient uptake for the flowering stage.

⚖️ Week 7: Rock-Hard & Ready

Bloody oath, these buds are dense and glistening with trichomes, proper frosty. Starting to see some pistils ambering up, and the trichomes are mostly cloudy. Started the pure water flush today. Will ride this out for about 7-10 days, letting her fully mature and clean herself up. Night temps are down a few degrees to around 19°C – should help with terpene expression.

✂️ Week 9: Done & Dusted!

Chopped her today! Just under 9 weeks from sprout. Trichomes were mostly cloudy with a nice sprinkle of amber, perfect for that balanced effect. Yielded exactly as expected for her size, dense and sticky nugs. Drying her slow and steady for maximum flavour. This girl is an absolute express train from seed to stash, ideal for getting that yield in without the long wait!
